Released on 8 February 2023 and part of the X Speedportal.3 line. This release has a synthetic upper in Team Shock Pink/Zero Metallic/Core Black. This is a junior indoor football boot, and it is worth remembering that indoor football is one of the sports adidas was actually built for. Adi Dassler's whole method was making a purpose specific shoe for one event, watching athletes rather than guessing, and the brand's football business grew out of exactly that discipline. Speedportal belongs to the modern side of that lineage, engineered around acceleration rather than around touch, and the IN designation marks it as the indoor version while the J puts it in junior sizing. The Own Your Football pack is the collection framing, which on youth product usually means a shared colour story across boots, kits and training gear rather than a technical change.
Utility
Two ways. As intended: on an indoor court or a sports hall floor, with proper football socks, shin pads and the laces pulled firm through every eyelet so the foot does not shift on a turn. Off pitch: with joggers and a tracksuit top as a casual flat sole trainer, which is how most kids end up wearing them anyway. Right for futsal, five a side, sports hall sessions and school PE, wrong for grass, wet astroturf and any outdoor surface where a flat rubber sole slides. Buy for a snug fit with a thumb's width at most, since football boots should not have growing room. Wipe the outsole after every session so the grip pattern stays sharp, air dry away from radiators, and never machine wash.
Influence
adidas is a football company as much as a sportswear one, sponsoring athletes including Lionel Messi and David Beckham, and it competes as the second largest sportswear maker in the world. In India it has run the market with local ambassadors rather than imported ones, signing Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh in 2015 and previously running a cricket campaign with Virat Kohli, who moved to Puma in 2017. Youth football product is where a brand recruits for life, which is why the packs get names and colour stories rather than being sold purely on specification. The three angled bars, introduced in 1997, mark this as performance product rather than Originals.
Construction
An indoor football boot is a different object to a firm ground boot. There are no studs, just a flat rubber outsole tuned for grip on a hard court, and the upper sits low and close so the foot can feel the ball rather than being insulated from it. The forefoot carries the design work, since indoor play is dominated by short passing and quick turns rather than sprinting on grass. The Three Stripes sit on the flank in adidas's oldest structural application, where they reinforced the upper before they became branding. In junior sizing, fit is the whole game: too much room in a boot this flat means a foot sliding on a turn, which is where injuries come from.
