White Thunder inverts a colourway the fourth model is known for. Thunder normally means black and yellow, so putting that logic on a white base flips the weight of the shoe: the structure that usually reads as heavy now reads as light, with the accents doing all the definition. The fourth belongs to Tinker Hatfield's run, from the third model onward, when the line stopped being a basketball shoe with annual colours and became a design series that could quote itself. A shoe referencing an earlier colourway of the same model is exactly that kind of self quotation, which only works because the design vocabulary is stable enough for people to hear the reference.
