On Running On Cloud 6 'triple Black'

Triple Black on the sixth generation Cloud is the most bought version of the most bought shoe in the range, and the reason is unromantic: it goes with everything and it never looks dirty. The Cloud line runs back to the Cloudracer of 2012, raced by Swiss triathlete Nicola Spirig, and further back to a prototype Olivier Bernhard made in Zurich by gluing sections of a cut garden hose to a sole. He had shown that idea to Nike and been turned down before founding On in 2010 with David Allemann and Caspar Coppetti. Blacking the shoe out removes the visual explanation of all that and leaves only the profile, which is how most people prefer to carry engineering.
