Onyx landed months before the ground shifted. adidas ended the Yeezy partnership on 22 October 2022, leaving roughly four million pairs and around 500 million euros of stock sitting in warehouses. After months of silence the company resumed selling in May 2023, restocking Onyx at the end of that month, with adidas India listing models for an early June drop. Ten million dollars had already gone to the Anti-Defamation League, the Philonise and Keeta Floyd Institute for Social Change and Robert Kraft's foundation, with 120 million more pledged from those sales. That is why an all black 350 V2 now reads as a closing chapter rather than a colourway, and why the supply behind it is finite in a way it never used to be.

Black Primeknit forms the upper, knitted in one piece so it wraps your foot like a heavy sock and flexes with it instead of creasing hard across the toe. The monofilament stripe stretches over the midfoot and carries up to the heel, showing as a shift in texture rather than a change in colour, which is the entire trick of a tonal build: you see the detail up close and read one solid mass from across the street. Underneath sits an encapsulated Boost midsole in matching black, the cushioning that made this silhouette a genuine all day shoe rather than a display piece. The outsole is finished in the same black, so street scuffs disappear instead of announcing themselves.
