Designed by Peter Moore and released on 5 December 2022 as part of the Air Jordan 1 line. This release has a leather upper in Sail/Stealth/White. The Air Jordan 1 Mid SE is where Jordan Brand experiments without touching the retro line, and this White, Medium Grey and Cool Grey pair, style code HF3216-100, is the restrained end of that idea. No collab, no story colorway, just the Peter Moore silhouette rendered in three tones nobody can argue with. SE stands for special edition, and here it reads as material and finish work rather than graphics: Jordan's own copy pitches it as taking your neutral game up a level. The Mid has spent years as the entry point into Jordan 1 ownership, the pair you buy before you start chasing High OGs, and the grey-on-white builds are the ones that keep moving long after the loud releases sit on shelves. This is that shoe, done properly.
Two ways to run it. One: light-wash straight jeans, a white tee, a grey zip hoodie, letting the overlays do all the work so nothing competes. Two: black cargos, a black long-sleeve and a grey beanie, which turns the white toe box into the only bright point in the fit. Sizing: the Air Jordan 1 Mid fits true to size, so take your usual Nike number; the toe box does feel snug at first and the leather needs a few wears to give, so wide feet should go half up. Genuine leather carries the upper, and that is a difference you feel in week three rather than day one: it creases to the shape of your foot and holds the mid panel up instead of letting it slump. White takes the toe and quarter with medium grey and cool grey stacked across the overlays, a tonal layout that hides scuffs far better than an all-white Jordan 1 ever manages. The mid-top collar is plush padded, so you get ankle coverage without the pressure point a stiff High builds up. Underfoot a foam midsole handles the light work while a Nike Air unit absorbs impact, all on a rubber outsole cut for durable traction. Wings logo on the collar, Jumpman on the tongue, both exactly where they belong.
