Designed by Peter Moore and released on 3 October 2020 as part of the Air Jordan 1 line. This release has the Black/Guava Ice/Sail colourway. Guava Ice is one of those Jordan colours that arrived as a seasonal shade and then refused to leave. It is a soft, pale coral pink, warmer and less sugary than a standard pastel, and the Air Jordan 1 Low is where it found its best home. The Low is the everyday cut of the shoe Peter Moore drew for Michael Jordan, the same panel structure and the same last with the ankle height taken out, built to be worn rather than stored. The Wmns Air Jordan 1 Low Black Guava Ice is a women's release, made as its own thing rather than a shrunk down version of a men's pair. It keeps the Jordan 1 blueprint completely intact and only changes what fills it, which is why it reads as a Jordan first and a colourway second.
Two ways to wear the Wmns Air Jordan 1 Low Black Guava Ice. One: straight leg or wide leg blue denim with a black tee and a black bag, so the guava panel is the only warm thing in the fit. Two: lean the other way, cream cargos and an oversized white shirt, letting the black overlays hold it together. It handles college days, brunches and travel, and the low cut means no ankle rub. On fit, the Jordan 1 Low runs true to size and shares its last with the Mid and High, so take your usual number and go half up only if your feet are wide. Care matters on pale leather: hit the guava panels with a protector spray before first wear, wipe them down after each wear, and keep harsh detergent off the nylon tongue.
The Air Jordan 1 Low is where women's Jordan releases got genuinely interesting. Instead of shrinking men's colourways into smaller numbers, Jordan Brand started building women's exclusive palettes on the Low, and Guava Ice is one of the clearest results of that shift. The exclusivity is a real part of the appeal here: this make up exists as a women's pair and nothing else. The black and guava pairing has also aged unusually well. From across a room the shoe reads as a neutral you can put with anything, and up close it reads as a deliberate choice, and that combination is why it keeps showing up in daily rotations long after release instead of sitting boxed on a shelf.
The base is leather in Guava Ice, with nylon tongues in the same shade, so the shoe runs two textures through one colour and catches light unevenly instead of going flat. Black takes everything structural: the overlays, the Swooshes, the collars, the liner and the laces. That is what stops a pale pink shoe from reading delicate, and it is quietly practical too, because the parts that scuff first on a Jordan 1 Low are the toe overlay and the collar, and here those are exactly the parts that hide it. A perforated toe box keeps air moving through the front. Underneath sits an off-white midsole with a Nike Air unit for cushioning, over a rubber outsole built for daily walking.
