DEALT CREW - Print T-Shirt - black
DEALT CREW - Print T-Shirt - black
Culture Note™
Origin
AllSaints started in 1994 as a wholesale menswear label supplying Harvey Nichols and Harrods, named partly for All Saints Road in Notting Hill and partly for founder Stuart Trevor's own nickname. The first standalone store opened on Carnaby Street in 1997, and the identity settled early: London, slightly gothic, more rock club than runway. Graphic tees became the clearest expression of that. AllSaints draws its men's prints by hand in its East London studio rather than pulling from a stock library, which is why they read as drawings instead of decals. Dealt sits squarely in that lineage. The house has always leaned on skulls and memento mori imagery, and this one puts skeleton hands over a poker game: a gambling-with-fate joke told in pencil, grounded on washed black so it never tips into novelty.
Utility
Two ways to run it. Off duty: the washed black tee with indigo or black straight-leg denim, white leather sneakers, and a black leather jacket over the top once the sun drops, which is the outfit AllSaints has effectively been selling for thirty years. Sharper: tuck it loosely into pleated charcoal trousers with a decent belt and derbies, letting the print peek rather than dominate. On sizing, the relaxed cut means take your usual size for the drape it was designed with, and size down only if you want it sitting closer to the body. Wash cold and inside out, skip the tumble dryer, dry flat, and never run an iron over the artwork. Treated right this AllSaints Dealt print t-shirt in black holds up for years.
Influence
Skulls are the AllSaints house language. The Ramskull is the brand emblem, and the men's graphic tee wall has run on skulls, florals, stripes and animals for years, all of it drawn in-house in East London. Dealt is the gambling entry in that catalogue, and the imagery does real work: skeleton hands at a card table is the oldest visual joke about luck and mortality, which is why it lands without needing a slogan. AllSaints now runs hundreds of stores across dozens of countries, and it works in India the same way it works in London, as a way to signal taste without a logo doing the shouting. This is a black tee with an idea inside it.
Construction
One hundred percent cotton jersey, cut to a relaxed fit with a ribbed crew neck and short sleeves, which is the version of this tee you want if you plan to actually wear it rather than shelf it. Relaxed here means the shoulder sits a touch wide and the body skims instead of clinging, so it layers under a jacket without bunching at the armhole. The colour is washed black rather than flat black, dyed to read lived-in from day one and to fade evenly instead of going patchy grey. The skeleton-hands poker artwork is screen printed, so it carries a slight texture you can feel under a thumb. Care is simple and worth respecting if you want the print intact: machine wash, then dry flat.
