Designed by Designer. This piece is made in upper material. Simon Porte Jacquemus built his house on scale games, and Le Bambino is the shape that turned the game into something you can actually carry. Where Le Chiquito shrank the handbag to a punchline, Le Bambino stretched it sideways into a wide, low, flap front silhouette with a top carry handle that reads structured without reading formal. This brown version belongs to Le Raphia, the Spring/Summer 2023 collection Jacquemus staged at Le Bourget outside Paris, built around the raffia palm and a palette of dried wheat and sand colored fibres. That season pulled the house out of glossy colour and into earth tones, and the brown Le Bambino is the piece that survived it best. If you are looking to buy the Jacquemus Le Bambino in India, this is the colour that does the most work.
Two ways to run it. Daytime: an oversized off white shirt, wide leg pleated trousers in bone or khaki, leather sandals or clean white sneakers, bag held on the short handle so the brown lands against neutrals. Evening: black knit, straight black denim, boots, strap dropped long and worn crossbody so the leather is the only warm note in the fit. The brown is forgiving in Indian light and hides dust better than the off white and pastel versions. Capacity is the honest limit: phone, cardholder, keys and a compact fill it, so do not plan on a passport plus a sunglasses case. For care, keep it off wet monsoon seats, wipe with a dry soft cloth, condition the buffed leather lightly a couple of times a year, and store it stuffed and upright so the flap holds its line.
Le Raphia was a house pivot, not a capsule: raffia texturing ran across tops, suiting, skirts, bags and hats at the Le Bourget show, so a brown Le Bambino from that season carries a whole collection's mood, not one accessory idea. That is why the colour still reads current. Buffed leather in brown, with the grain knocked back so scuffs settle into patina instead of standing out. The face carries logo hardware and contrast stitching in white, the detail that keeps a plain rectangle from looking blank. A foldover flap closes on a magnet, so one hand gets you in and out at a bar or a boarding gate. Cotton twill lining sits inside to keep grit off a phone screen, and a patch pocket on the back face takes a card or a folded note without opening the bag. Measurements run about 7 inches wide, 4 inches high and 2.25 inches deep.
