Stanley began with a welding trick. William Stanley Jr. had spent his working life on electrical transformers, and in 1913 he applied what he knew about joining metal to patent an all-steel vacuum bottle, killing off the glass liner that made every rival flask a fragile thing. That bottle could go down a mine shaft and still pour hot. Two ways to run it. Gym bag: fill with water and a scoop of protein, shake hard on the walk out, and use the flat dark body as the thing that disappears against black training kit and a duffel. Desk to workout: keep it as your water bottle through the day, then convert it into a shaker for the evening session so you carry one vessel instead of two.
