Designed by Peter Moore and released on 25 March 2022 as part of Nike's Dunk line. This release has a leather upper in Football Grey/Atmosphere/Doll. Nike learned early that colour sells a shape, and the Dunk became the model where that lesson was tested most often. The Easter theme is one of the company's recurring seasonal exercises: pastels laid across a low-cut court silhouette, softening a shoe originally drawn for hardwood. This women's pair takes that idea and runs it as a full pastel scheme rather than a single accent, which makes it a spring shoe in the most literal sense. The Dunk earns this treatment because its panels are separate enough to hold three or four gentle tones without any of them fighting. It is Nike using a basketball shape as a mood board, which is most of what the Dunk has become.
Look one: cream or off-white linen trousers with a light knit, letting the pastels register as a natural extension of a warm neutral fit rather than a colour pop. Look two: mid-wash denim with a plain white tee, the simplest frame there is, where the shoe carries all the colour and the outfit carries none. Both work better with a low white sock so the pastel collar stays visible. Treat pastels as fair-weather only, since pale panels pick up road grime immediately and rarely come fully back. Protect before first wear, brush dry dirt off before it sets, and clean with mild soap on a soft brush in small circles rather than wiping across the panels, which spreads staining.
Nike's move from sport into everyday dress happened through shoes exactly like this: from the 1980s the brand became a status symbol in urban and hip hop fashion, with Air Jordans, Air Force 1s and Air Max models becoming staples of mainstream American youth dress, then reappearing in 1990s and 2000s casual and athleisure wardrobes. Seasonal pastel releases are the commercial proof of that shift, since nobody buys a spring colourway to play basketball in. The Swoosh, drawn by Carolyn Davidson and first used on 18 June 1971, is the one constant across every seasonal reinterpretation, the mark that keeps a soft pastel shoe unmistakably Nike.
Style code DD1503 001 places this in the core Dunk Low retro family, built on the model's panelled upper: base, toe, Swoosh, eyestay, collar and heel tab, each capable of carrying its own shade. Pastels are unforgiving in a way saturated colours are not, since every scuff shows and every seam is visible against a pale ground, so the stitch quality becomes part of the look. The women's last runs narrower through the heel and midfoot than the standard cut. Underfoot the platform is flat and court-derived, in the tradition that starts with Bowerman pouring rubber into a waffle iron to get a lighter, grippier sole, so the ride is firm rather than cushioned.
