Released on 7 July 2024 and part of the Court Vision line. This release has a leather upper in Light Khaki/White. Not every Nike is a heritage argument. Court Vision is the accessible court-inspired line, a clean low-top that takes the proportions the company established on basketball floors and delivers them without a signature athlete attached or a resale conversation orbiting them. That matters more in India than most places: Nike entered the market in 1995 through a licensing agreement with Sierra Industrial Enterprises, now SSIPL, and spent years priced roughly 30 percent above competitors, closing around 200 stores from 2017. Light Khaki is the colour that answers that history, a soft, dusty beige that reads as considered rather than expensive, and works in dust and heat better than white ever will.
Light khaki is the most weather-appropriate neutral in this range. Recipe one: olive lightweight chinos, a white linen shirt and a canvas tote, a hot-weather outfit where the shoe softens rather than brightens. Recipe two: black tapered trousers, a black tee and a beige overshirt, letting the khaki tie the top and bottom together. Court Vision fits close to true to size with a slightly narrower toe box than a Dunk. Beige is a stain magnet, so protect before wear, brush dry regularly rather than washing, and treat any water mark immediately, since dried water rings on pale leather set as a shadow you cannot brush out.
Nike's court shapes became mainstream dress from the 1980s onward, moving through urban and hip hop fashion and returning in 1990s and 2000s casual and athleisure wardrobes until the low-top court silhouette was simply what a sneaker looked like. Court Vision is the democratic end of that inheritance, the version that puts the shape in reach without the queue. The company that made it was itself built from below, starting as Blue Ribbon Sports in 1964 and selling 1,300 pairs for about 8,000 dollars in its first year out of the back of Phil Knight's car at track meets, which is not a bad origin for an entry-level shoe.
A clean low-top court build: a smooth panelled upper over a flat rubber cupsole, with a low padded collar, perforated toe box and a large side Swoosh doing the visual work. Court Vision is designed for daily wear rather than for the floor, so expect a lighter, less armoured build than a performance basketball shoe, with a straightforward foam footbed rather than exposed cushioning technology. The flat sole still descends from Bowerman's founding fixation on tread, the waffle iron experiment behind the 1972 Moon Shoe and the 1974 Waffle Trainer. Light Khaki keeps the whole shoe in one warm tone, so the panel lines and stitching are what give it structure in daylight.
