Simon Porte Jacquemus built his house on scale games, and Le Bambino is the shape that turned the game into something you can actually carry. Where Le Chiquito shrank the handbag to a punchline, Le Bambino stretched it sideways into a wide, low, flap front silhouette with a top carry handle that reads structured without reading formal. This brown version belongs to Le Raphia, the Spring/Summer 2023 collection Jacquemus staged at Le Bourget outside Paris, built around the raffia palm and a palette of dried wheat and sand colored fibres. That season pulled the house out of glossy colour and into earth tones, and the brown Le Bambino is the piece that survived it best. Two ways to run it. Daytime: an oversized off white shirt, wide leg pleated trousers in bone or khaki, leather sandals or clean white sneakers, bag held on the short handle so the brown lands against neutrals. The brown is forgiving in Indian light and hides dust better than the off white and pastel versions.
