Adidas Adilette Slides Black Snakeskin

Part of the Adilette line. This release has a suede upper in Core Black/Crystal White/Crystal White. The Adilette is the least complicated thing adidas makes and one of the few pieces the brand never had to reinvent. It began as the shoe you put on when you took the boots off, a locker room and poolside object that ended up outliving most of the performance shoes it was designed to follow. Because the shape is fixed, adidas expresses it through material, and this is the snake textured execution in black: a raised, scaled surface across the strap that changes how light moves over a shoe with no other detail to look at. The three stripes cut into the band remain the only branding it needs, which is the point of a mark bought in 1952 and used ever since as both logo and structure.
