Origin
Released on 5 February 2026 and part of the Adistar XLG 2.0 line. This release has the Core Black/Core Black/Silver Metallic colourway. The Adistar name has moved through adidas running for a long time, attached at different points to serious distance shoes and to experimental ones. XLG 2.0 is the version built for scale rather than speed: an exaggerated, oversized runner where the midsole is the whole design and the upper exists to hold your foot on top of it. Core Black Silver keeps it severe, a full black body with metallic silver detailing, which suits a shape this large because colour would only make it louder. This is adidas doing what it has always done best in running, which is treating the part of the shoe you cannot see as the product.
Utility
Big shoes need long, heavy clothing to balance them. Recipe one: wide black technical trousers with a break that just covers the collar, plus a black shell jacket, so the silhouette reads as one continuous dark column and the silver detailing is the only highlight.
