Hubert de Givenchy opened his house on Rue Alfred de Vigny in Paris in 1952, at twenty five the youngest designer in a scene rebuilding couture from scratch, and his first collection of separates made his name immediately. A year later he met Audrey Hepburn, who borrowed looks for Sabrina, and what followed became one of the defining designer and muse relationships in fashion. The Paris Slide is that house name translated into something you wear to walk to the pool. It carries the GIVENCHY PARIS signature raised across the strap in contrast, the same wordmark that runs on couture labels, applied to a single piece of moulded rubber.
