Origin
Released on 10 October 2024 and part of the Jordan Tatum 3 line. This release has a textile upper in White/Black/Kinetic Green. Jayson Tatum is a signature athlete for the brand, which places him in the line that started when Nike signed a Chicago rookie on 26 October 1984 and gave him a royalty on sales rather than a flat fee. The third shoe in his series is a working basketball shoe first, not a lifestyle retro, and Welcome To The Garden names the arena a visiting player has to survive rather than a colour. The Alternate version is the second reading of that theme. Signature models like this are the reason the Jordan division exists as a standalone unit inside Nike since 1997 with its own athlete roster: the line was never meant to remain one man's shoe.
Utility
This is a shoe to play in first. On court, lace it fully with a performance sock and let the midfoot structure do its job; off court, its low profile and technical upper suit tracksuit trousers with a fitted top rather than heavy denim, which fights the shape. Keep the outfit athletic and simple: shorts and a plain tee in warm weather, tapered joggers and a quarter zip when it is cold. Take your usual basketball shoe size.
