Released on 13 December 2022 and part of New Balance's 1906 line. This release has a nubuck upper in Black/Taos Taupe/Magnet. Black with Taos Taupe is a desert palette on a shoe built like machinery, and that tension is the whole reason this version of the 1906R works. The model takes its name from 1906, when New Balance opened near Boston as an arch support company rather than a shoemaker, and it wears the brand's most engineered lifestyle construction. Most colourways push that engineering towards a technical or futuristic read. This one drags it somewhere warmer and dustier, using a soft brown taupe against black so the layering reads as terrain rather than hardware. It is the version for people who like the shape but want none of the metallic gloss the family usually carries.
