Released on 15 May 2025 and part of Nike's Pegasus Premium line. This release has a mesh upper in White/Metallic Silver. Pegasus is the name Nike gives to the shoe that does not need an excuse, the everyday trainer that carries the majority of a runner's mileage without ever being the headline. Pegasus Premium is that shoe given the treatment normally reserved for racing product. White with metallic silver is the deliberately clinical way to present it: no team colours, no seasonal palette, just white upper and a silver finish that catches light along the midsole and reads as engineering rather than decoration. It is a direct descendant of the logic Bill Bowerman brought to Blue Ribbon Sports in 1964, that runners are owed better hardware than the market defaults to, applied to the least glamorous shoe in the range.
White and metallic silver is a technical palette, so treat it as one. Recipe one: black running tights or shorts, a grey technical tee, a light shell, keeping everything in the same cool register as the silver. Recipe two off the road: black tapered trousers, a white tee, a grey zip through, which lets the shoe pass as a design object rather than gym kit. Use it for easy and moderate paced road mileage, not trails, where the white upper will be ruined in one outing. Go true to size with a thumb of space at the toe. Wipe the midsole after every run and never put a foam midsole shoe through a washing machine.
Nike's authority in running is not a marketing position, it is the company's origin: Steve Prefontaine, Bill Bowerman's pupil at Oregon, became the brand's first track endorser and its symbol of running as attitude rather than sport, and there is a statue of him at Nike headquarters. The line runs through sponsored athletes including Sebastian Coe, Carl Lewis, Jackie Joyner-Kersee, Michael Johnson and Allyson Felix. A premium daily trainer inherits all of that without carrying any of the pressure. It is the shoe for the ninety percent of running that nobody photographs, dressed up enough that you will also wear it when you are not running at all.
A road running build in white with metallic silver detailing, using Nike Air, the pressurised gas unit sealed into the midsole that the company has been refining since it made the cushioning itself a visible design feature from the 1987 Air Max onward. Premium in this line means the cushioning system is the story rather than a component, so expect a more engineered midsole profile than a standard daily trainer and a correspondingly firmer, springier return. The upper is built for breathability and lockdown rather than durability against abrasion. White and silver is the least practical finish Nike could have chosen for a road shoe, which tells you this pair is meant to be seen as much as run in.
