Released on 16 May 2025 and part of Nike's Air Max Muse line. This release has a synthetic upper in Black/Metallic Silver. The Air Max line arrived in 1987 and changed what a midsole was for. Nike Air is a pressurised gas unit sealed inside the foam, and from that release onward Nike cut a window into the sidewall so you could see the cushioning working. Everything in the family since has been an argument about how much of that unit to show. The Air Max Muse takes the idea into a women's silhouette with a heavier, more sculptural stance, and Triple Black under style code FV1920 003 removes colour from the conversation entirely. Blacked out, the shoe stops being about a colourway and becomes about volume, proportion and the shapes cut into the sole, which is the more interesting way to read this design.
Recipe one: black wide leg trousers with a cropped hem, a charcoal knit and a long grey coat, an all dark column where the sole's shape provides the only break. Recipe two: dark indigo straight jeans, a white shirt tucked loosely and a black bomber, using the single white note to keep the outfit from flattening. This is the pair for airports, long walking days and anywhere a light sole would show wear immediately. Black uppers hide scuffs but show dust and salt marks, so brush weekly with a soft dry brush.
