Designed by Horst Dassler and released on 18 August 2023 as part of the Stan Smith line. This release has a leather upper in Cloud White/Green/Cream White. The Stan Smith is the plainest famous shoe in the world: a white leather tennis silhouette with perforated stripes instead of stitched ones, so restrained that it became, alongside the Superstar, the base layer of European football terrace and casual dressing. That blankness is exactly why it works as a canvas. This pair hands it to The Simpsons and to Homer, so the standard heel patch portrait gets replaced by the show's least ambitious man and the accent colour turns to his unmistakable yellow. The comedy only works because the original is so severe. You are wearing the most conservative shoe in the catalogue with a cartoon face where the tennis player should be.
