Released on 12 May 2022 and part of the Jordan Sophia line. This release has a synthetic upper in Black/Black/Fire Red. Black with Fire Red is Jordan Brand's founding colour argument, and putting it on a women's slide is the most relaxed possible use of it. The line exists because Nike signed Michael Jordan in 1984, an endorsement that turned into a business of its own and eventually into a brand with its own product categories, footwear that has nothing to do with playing basketball included. A slide is where that logic ends up: the Jumpman applied to something you wear to walk from a car to a door. Fire Red against black keeps the connection to the original palette clear, so the piece still reads as Jordan rather than as generic sportswear.
