Yeezy 500 Soft Vision

Designed by Kanye West and released on 2 November 2019 as part of the Yeezy 500 line. This release has a mesh upper in Soft Vision/Soft Vision/Soft Vision. The 500 arrived in December 2017 and broke the pattern the line had set. Where the 350 was a knit sock and the 750 was a high top, the 500 was low, heavy and deliberately awkward, a shoe built to look like it had been dug out of a decade nobody wanted back. Soft Vision pushes that further by leaving the terrain palette behind. Instead of Oxford Tan or Moonrock you get a muted mauve pink, a colour that reads as dusty and slightly synthetic rather than mineral. That was the point of the 500 series: it let the label test tones that its earth toned reputation could not carry. On this silhouette the pink sits quietly, because the shape is bulky enough to absorb a colour that would look loud on anything slimmer.
