Adidas Sl72 Rs Blue Bright Red

Released on 1 July 2024 and part of the SL72 line. This release has a suede upper in Blue/Bright Red/Royal Blue. The SL72 belongs to the era when adidas was designing for the Munich Olympics, the same moment that produced the Trefoil, three leaves over three stripes, launched in 1972 and carried by the brand until 1997. It is a nylon and suede runner from the years when running shoes were still light, narrow and built for the track rather than for cushioning, and the RS is the reworked modern version of that outline. Blue Bright Red is a period correct pairing: a blue upper cut with a hard, saturated red, colours chosen for a stadium camera rather than for a wardrobe. Seventies running shoes were never subtle.
