Yeezy 500 Utility Black

Released on 2 June 2023 and part of the Yeezy 500 line. This release has a mesh upper in Utility Black/Utility Black. Utility Black comes from the first wave of the 500, the model that arrived in December 2017 and gave the line a silhouette with weight to it: wide, low and grounded, drawing on nineties trail shoes rather than on the knit sock language that had defined everything before it. The name is functional rather than geological, which sets it slightly apart from Moonrock and Oxford Tan while keeping the same refusal to use fashion vocabulary. All black on a shape this bulky is the version most people can actually wear daily, and it became one of the most consistently worn colourways the model produced.
