Released on 1 July 2024 and part of the Ora Athletic Slide line. This piece is made in synthetic in Varsity Navy/White. The Ora Athletic Slide is Hoka reducing itself to the one thing it is known for. No upper to engineer, no lacing to tune, just a strap and a cushioned platform shaped the way the brand has shaped platforms since Nicolas Mermoud and Jean-Luc Diard started building oversized outsoles in Annecy in 2009. Varsity Navy with White is the team-kit reading of it: deep navy strap and body, white on the sole unit and branding, the palette of a locker room rather than a spa. Style code 1155154-VYN marks this version. It is the shoe you put on when the actual shoes come off, and it looks the part.
Two uses. Post-session: navy slides with a thick crew sock, black shorts and a hoodie, the standard changing-room fit that works because the colourway is athletic rather than resort. Warm-weather casual: barefoot with cream shorts and a navy polo, where the white contrast keeps it looking clean rather than utilitarian. Size to your normal length, since a slide that is too long slaps when you walk. Do not run in it.
