Designed by Tinker Hatfield and released on 23 December 2025 as part of the Air Jordan 4 line. This release has a leather upper in Dark Mocha/Bronze Eclipse/Black/Violet Ore. Dark Mocha on the Air Jordan 4 Retro, worked with A Ma Maniere, moves the model from sports colour blocking into a brown, low contrast register. The 4 came from the Tinker Hatfield stretch when the line became a design series with its own language, and its plastic wing eyelets and mesh panels were designed to be read from a distance in an arena. Muting all of that into a single earth tone is the point of the exercise: the geometry stays, the volume comes down. Jordan Brand has run its collaboration programme across streetwear, luxury and music since becoming a standalone Nike division in 1997. Style code IF3102 200.
Mocha is a wardrobe colour, so use it as one. First: cream or ecru wide leg trousers with a single cuff, a chocolate knit, gold hardware, an all brown outfit where the shoe is the darkest point. Second: washed black denim and a heavy grey sweatshirt, using the mocha to warm a cold palette. Occasion is dinner, daytime city, dry weather. Fit is true to size with a structured toe box that will not give. Care: protector spray before first wear, suede brush in one direction only, dry brush the mesh panels, never wet clean, and store them boxed away from sunlight, which fades brown dyes fastest.
The luxury end of Jordan Brand's collaboration programme includes Dior and Comme des Garcons alongside Off-White under Virgil Abloh, Supreme and KAWS, and the market that receives those shoes is the one Air Jordan created: sneaker collecting as a mass activity, with a resale ecosystem valued at roughly 2 billion dollars. Brown, tonal make ups are how that market matured, moving from loud team colours to material driven releases. The underlying culture is still the collision of basketball and hip hop, and the 4 is one of the models that carried it out of the arena and into everyday clothing.
The 4's architecture survives, wing eyelets flanking the lacing, mesh set into the quarter panels for airflow, a moulded heel and a structured toe box, but the surface is rendered in soft napped material in a mocha tone with tonal hardware rather than contrast plastics. Nike Air cushioning has been in the line since the Air Jordan II and sits under a rubber outsole. A single tone napped upper is the least forgiving finish there is, because there is no colour break to hide a mark, and the mesh panels will trap dust that a cloth cannot reach. Brush and protect rather than wash.
