Released on 15 December 2024 and part of the Dropset line. This release has a textile upper in Silver Green/Night Cargo/Lucid Lemon. Dropset is adidas taking the gym floor seriously again. Most training shoes are compromises, soft enough to run in and stable enough to lift in, which usually means good at neither. The Dropset line refuses that: it is built for the part of the session where you are loading a bar, not chasing a pace. That focus is the oldest thing about adidas, a company founded by a man who made shoes for one event at a time after watching athletes rather than guessing. The third generation refines the format. Silver Green with Night Cargo is an unusual choice for a lifting shoe, a cool metallic tone against a deep military green, which drags a functional object into something you would actually choose on looks.
Utility
Two uses. First, the intended one: squats, deadlifts, presses and heavy accessory work, where the flat stable base is the entire benefit and a cushioned runner would actively cost you. Second, mixed sessions: circuits and short conditioning blocks, where you need something that will not roll on a lateral movement. Do not use it for road running. Training lasts fit close through the midfoot with a slightly wider forefoot, so go true to size and lace tight through the top eyelets before lifting. Wipe chalk and rubber dust off after sessions, keep the outsole clean so grip stays honest, air dry, and never machine wash, which softens the structured upper you are paying for.
