Nike Dunk Low Panda

The Dunk started life as a college basketball shoe. Peter Moore sketched it as the College Color High, built to carry team colours onto the floor, and Nike pushed it out through the Be True To Your School campaign with Michigan, Kentucky, Iowa, Georgetown, Syracuse, St John's and UNLV. It was a mash up from day one: outsole traction lifted from the Air Jordan 1, an upper borrowing from the Jordan 1 and the Terminator, a mould taken from the Legend. Skaters adopted it decades later and Nike SB handed it a second life with a padded tongue and better materials. The Dunk Low Panda strips every bit of that back to the simplest possible statement, white leather and black overlays, no story printed on the shoe at all. That blankness is exactly why it became the pair everyone owns.
