New Balance 327 New Spruce

Released on 30 June 2022 and part of New Balance's 327 line. This release has a suede upper in New Spruce/White. The 327 is New Balance dismantling its own house mark and putting it back bigger. The block N on the side wall is the brand's identifier, and on this shoe it is stretched out of proportion until it runs across almost the entire panel, an idea borrowed from the brand's own cross country and trail shoes of the seventies where the outsole wrapped up over the toe and the branding sat oversized. New Spruce puts that graphic in a deep muted green against off white, which is the smartest way to wear a shoe this graphic. The green cools the whole thing down and stops the oversized N reading as a shout instead of a statement.
