New Balance 550 White Bubblegum Pink

Released on 6 April 2023 and part of New Balance's 550 line. This release has a leather upper in White/Lilac Cloud. White with bubblegum pink is the 550 at its most cheerful, and the silhouette can take it because everything else about the shoe is disciplined. This is a low, leather cut shape from New Balance's court side, all clean panels and one clear logo, so a bright accent has structure to sit against rather than fighting for space. The brand came out of a 1906 arch support business and spent decades known for grey, technical, unglamorous shoes, which is exactly why its more playful colour work reads as a choice rather than a default. A pink 550 is New Balance enjoying itself without redesigning anything.
