Released on 15 January 2024 and part of the Predator 24 League Freestyle line. This release has a suede upper in Core Black/Cloud White/Solar Red. Predator is adidas's most recognisable football boot name, the line built around control and grip on the ball rather than around minimum weight. The League tier is the accessible version of that technology, and the Low Freestyle build takes it off the pitch, keeping the Predator's identity while turning it into something you can wear on hard surfaces and in the street. Black with White and Solar Red is the classic Predator colour arrangement: dark base, sharp white structure, a hot red accent that marks the strike zone. Style code IF1025. adidas has made football boots since Adolf Dassler built sport specific shoes in Herzogenaurach, and the freestyle version is that heritage repurposed for a different kind of player.
Use it for street and cage football, futsal style small sided games on hard courts, and for anywhere a studded boot would be useless or dangerous. It also functions as an everyday shoe, which a real boot does not. Wear it with tapered black trousers or football shorts and long socks depending on which side of the line you are on. Take your usual football size, since these run close to a boot fit rather than a trainer fit, snug and low volume. Brush the textured upper rather than wiping it, knock grit out of the outsole after playing on concrete, and never dry it near a heater, which hardens the upper.
Football is where adidas has held cultural ground the longest, with sponsored athletes including Lionel Messi and David Beckham, and where the brand's identity as the three stripes company, a name Adi Dassler adopted after buying the mark from Karhu Sports in 1952, is most visible. Freestyle and street football is the part of the sport that has grown fastest without institutional support, played on cages, courts and any flat surface, and it has its own footwear needs. Building a Predator for it acknowledges that the game outside the stadium is a real audience rather than an overflow from the real one.
The Predator identity comes from what the upper does to the ball. Textured elements across the instep are there to add grip on contact, which is the opposite philosophy to a speed boot's smooth thin skin, and the low freestyle build carries that texture onto a flatter outsole intended for hard ground and street play rather than a studded soleplate for grass. That changes the shoe's whole use case: you can wear it on concrete, on a cage pitch or casually, which a firm ground boot cannot survive. Black dominates the upper with white structural lines and solar red accents. A black upper hides scuffing well, but textured surfaces trap dust and need brushing rather than wiping.
