Released on 20 March 2025 and part of the Jordan Franchise Slide line. This release has a synthetic upper in Black/Metallic Gold. The slide is what happens after the game, and Jordan Brand has made that moment part of its product language since it became a standalone Nike division in 1997 with its own apparel and footwear roster rather than a single signature model. The Franchise Slide is the house version of the locker room sandal, and in black with metallic gold it borrows the palette Jordan Brand reserves for honour makeups, the shade that appears on anniversary and championship colourways. There is no basketball performance claim here and none is needed. This is the shoe you own because the rest of your rotation is leather and laces, and something has to carry the twenty minutes between them.
Utility
Wear it the obvious way, with shorts and a heavyweight tee straight after training, socks optional depending on how you feel about the debate. The better outfit is the second one: black wide leg sweatpants, a plain white tee and a black crew sock, which turns the gold into a deliberate accent rather than gym residue. Do not wear these with tailoring. Size by length rather than by your sneaker size, since a slide that overhangs at the heel will slap when you walk. Construction
A slide is a strap and a footbed, and everything depends on how those two behave.
