Released on 12 July 2023 and part of New Balance's 574 line. This release has a suede upper in Pink/White. The 574 is the shoe New Balance made when it needed one silhouette that could do everything, and it became the volume model precisely because it refused to specialise. It sits on ENCAP, the midsole the brand introduced with the 995 in 1986 and still runs under the 574 and the 990: a moulded polyurethane rim around a soft EVA core. Pink pulls that engineering somewhere it was never aimed. Instead of the muted greys that made New Balance the plain shoe of American life, you get a full colour statement on a chassis designed for support, which is the most honest kind of fashion move a technical brand can make.
Utility
Pink works best when you treat it as a neutral with attitude rather than a match to anything. First recipe: mid blue straight jeans, a white tee and a grey zip hoodie, where the shoe is the only saturated thing in frame. Second: black wide leg trousers with an oversized black knit, letting the pink read as punctuation at the floor. Good for daily wear, walking and travel, less good for anything muddy. Sizing runs true to length and the model comes in multiple widths, so fix a broad foot with width rather than length. Brush the suede dry, use a coloured suede protector before first wear, and expect pale nap to show scuffing sooner than grey does.

It has never been a celebrity shoe and does not need to be. Construction
Suede and mesh in the classic 574 layout, with the block N riding the side wall and the pink carried across panels and mesh so the shape reads as one piece. Underneath is ENCAP, where the polyurethane rim supplies structure, durability and low compression set while the EVA core absorbs shock, so you get stability without a dead ride. That is the reason the 574 stays comfortable through a full day on hard floors rather than only feeling good in the first hour. New Balance's multiple width fittings, carried over from its arch support beginnings, are part of the model's appeal here, because a bright suede shoe is one you will keep for years and want to fit properly from the start.
