The AF1 is built heavy on purpose: a stacked, chunky midsole, a wide flat outsole and a structured upper with perforations across the toe box. This colourway uses that structure as a colour map, letting Italy Blue and Team Orange sit on the separate panels and the Swoosh so the shoe's seams become the design. Nike Air lives inside the midsole here, the sealed pressurised unit the brand made famous from 1987 onward, which is why the shoe feels cushioned despite its flat, firm profile. In wear expect a roomy, boxy fit and a substantial weight underfoot. The white and Sail sections will crease across the toe first, which is the AF1's signature ageing pattern rather than a defect.
