Released on 20 July 2022 and part of the Jordan Play Slide line. This release has a synthetic upper in White/Black/Fire Red/Taxi. Jordan Brand grew out of a single signing. Nike signed Michael Jordan in 1984 and the arrangement turned into a business of its own, big enough that it now produces everything from performance basketball shoes to the slide you wear out of the changing room. The Super Play Slide is that last category, and White with Taxi puts one of the line's most recognisable colour names on it, a yellow and black scheme that reads as Jordan to anyone who grew up around the brand. Slides are where a sneaker brand's identity gets tested, because there is almost no shoe there to hide behind.
Wear them the way players do, straight after training, ideally barefoot so the contoured footbed can support the arch. The second use is everything unglamorous: monsoon days, hostel corridors, airport queues, the balcony. Pair with shorts, or with wide track pants if you want them to look intentional. Size true, since an oversized slide lets the foot drift off the arch contour and defeats the design. White sections will discolour, so rinse after use with water and mild soap, avoid harsh bleaching products on foam, air dry out of direct sunlight, and never leave them in a hot car where foam warps permanently.
The Jordan line's cultural weight came from advertising as much as basketball, with Spike Lee directing and appearing as Mars Blackmon in the campaigns that made the shoes unavoidable. It is worth killing one myth attached to that era: the NBA never banned the Air Jordan 1. The shoe cited under the league's uniform rule was the Nike Air Ship prototype, Nike paid the fines and built its Banned campaign around the story. That mix of real product and constructed legend is why Jordan colour names like Taxi carry meaning decades later, even on a slide that has never been near a court.

The footbed is contoured rather than flat so the arch is supported under standing load, which is what separates a proper recovery slide from a beach slipper, and the foam does all the cushioning work with no air unit or plate involved. White carries the strap and body with Taxi yellow used for branding and detailing, a high contrast combination that also means marks show quickly on the white sections. Single piece construction has one great advantage: nothing can come unstitched, and cleaning is a rinse rather than a process. Over time the foam takes a set and sits lower than it did new.
