Nike exists because Bill Bowerman was obsessed with weight. He thought American runners were being sold shoes that were too heavy, he ruined a waffle iron proving a lighter sole was possible, and the results became the 1972 Moon Shoe and the 1974 Waffle Trainer. A slide is the logical end of that obsession: the least shoe you can wear and still be wearing something. The ReactX Rejuven8 pushes it further by making the foam bed the entire product, aimed at the hours after effort rather than during it. Medium Olive is the right colour for that job, a muted military green that reads as utility rather than as leisure and never looks like a hospital slipper.
