Designed by Bruce Kilgore and released on 16 July 2021 as part of Nike's Air Force 1 line. This release has a leather upper in White/Light Blue Fury/White. Nike has never been shy about putting a character on a shoe, and Hare is one of the oldest names in that vocabulary. This Air Force 1 '07 Low, style code DJ7998 100, is built around the Space Jam theme, which means a familiar silhouette is being used as a storytelling surface rather than as a sports product. The company has a long habit of this. Its most famous basketball advertising ran through Mars Blackmon, a character created and performed by Spike Lee for the Air Jordan campaigns from the mid 1980s, and Nike learned then that a personality attached to a shoe travels further than a specification ever will.
A themed shoe should be the only reference in the outfit. First recipe: plain black or indigo denim with a solid white or grey tee, nothing else graphic, so the shoe carries the whole idea. Second: full grey sweats, letting the colour and detailing pop against a blank field, which is the easiest way to wear a character release without it becoming a costume. The Air Force 1 '07 runs about a half size large, so size down half from your running size. It is heavy and structured, good for walking and standing, not for sport. Keep printed panels away from harsh cleaners, clean the midsole with a dedicated product, and store out of direct sunlight to stop graphics fading.
From the 1980s onward Nike became a status symbol in urban and hip hop fashion, with Air Jordans, Air Force 1s and Air Max models turning into staples of mainstream American youth dress and then reappearing across 1990s casual clothing and the 2000s athleisure wave. That reach is exactly why crossover themes work on this silhouette: the shoe is common ground, understood instantly across generations, so any story attached to it reads immediately. Nike's advertising has always leaned on the same effect, from the Mars Blackmon films to Just Do It in 1988, which became famous by saying nothing about shoes at all.
Themed Air Force 1s work because the base shoe is so stable. This is the '07 build: a thick cupsole with Nike Air, the pressurised gas unit sealed inside the midsole, a padded collar, a perforated toe panel and blocky leather style overlays that give the model its outline. A character theme adds printed or embroidered detail and unusual colour placement on top of that structure, which means the maintenance shifts to protecting graphics rather than just cleaning leather. Do not scrub printed areas. The white midsole remains the part that determines how good the pair looks over time, since yellowing and scuffing there undermine even the best kept upper.
