Designed by Tinker Hatfield and released on 24 May 2025 as part of the Air Jordan 4 line. This release has a leather upper in Summit White/Fire Red/Tech Grey/Black. White Cement is the 4 in its most quoted form, a white upper broken by grey speckled cement panelling and black hardware. The cement idea belongs to the Tinker Hatfield era that began with the Air Jordan 3, the shoe that introduced elephant print and put the Jumpman on the tongue, and it is the material code that most reliably identifies a Jordan across a room. The 4 inherited it and made it structural, wrapping the print around the eyestay and heel where the shoe's hardware already draws the eye. This is the OG specification, meaning the proportions and detailing follow the original release rather than a later retail reworking.
White and grey is a spring and summer proposition. Light wash straight leg denim with a plain white tee gives it the cleanest possible frame, and the cement print supplies all the texture the outfit needs. For a sharper option, grey pleated trousers with a black knit picks up the hardware and makes the shoe look intentional rather than casual. Avoid busy prints above the waist. The 4 is a wide shoe, so keep the trouser leg straight and let the hem sit just on the collar. Protect before wearing, brush the netting dry, and keep them out of rain, since a white upper stains permanently.
Elephant print now signals Jordan Brand on its own, without a Jumpman anywhere near it, which is rare for a material pattern. That recognition was built through the same channels as the rest of the line: basketball meeting hip hop, with 2Pac, The Notorious B.I.G., Ice Cube and Jay-Z putting Jordans into records, and Spike Lee's Mars Blackmon advertising putting them on screen. The 4 in particular has stayed close to that culture, and it is one of the models Travis Scott has worked on under Cactus Jack, alongside the 1 and the 6. White Cement is the version everyone can identify.
Everything the 4 is known for is visible here and the white base makes it legible. Mesh netting panels open the side walls, plastic lace wings sit either side of the throat so lacing pressure can be tuned, a moulded heel counter holds the rear foot, and Nike Air cushioning, in the line since the Air Jordan 2, sits underneath. The grey cement print appears as a cracked pattern on the eyestay and heel, the same material code the 3 introduced. White uppers with printed panels need care: clean with a foam cleaner and a soft brush, never bleach, and accept that the midsole will yellow with age and light exposure.
