Adidas Yeezy Slides Earth Brown

Designed by Kanye West and released on 16 April 2020 as part of the Yeezy Slides line. This release has a eva upper in Earth Brown/Earth Brown/Earth Brown. The Slide first arrived in December 2019 and became the piece of the adidas Yeezy line that escaped sneaker culture entirely. Earth Brown belongs to the palette the label built its identity on, the monochrome terrain names that ran from Oxford Tan and Moonrock through Desert Rat. Brown here is not a fashion accent, it is the point: a single mud toned mass with no laces, no stitching and no logo, so the object is only its silhouette. That was the argument Kanye West had been making since founding the label on 6 August 2013, that a shoe could be reduced to one moulded gesture and still be instantly readable. Earth Brown is the version of that idea that reads warmest, closer to clay and riverbank than to the greys and blacks around it.
