Part of New Balance's 530 line. This release has the Black colourway. The 530 is a 1990s running shoe that New Balance never treated as precious, which is precisely why it aged well. It came out of the period when the brand was building cushioned trainers for people logging weekly mileage, not for people photographing shoes, and its shape reflects that: a raised heel, a wide platform, a side wall busy with panels. Decades later that has become the point. The 530 is the shoe that looks most like what people mean when they say running shoe, without belonging to the premium 99x family the 990 opened in 1982. It is the everyday version of the brand's engineering, and it never asked to be anything else.
