Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 Unisex Cream/Black

Released on 26 May 2021 and part of the Mexico 66 line. This release has a leather upper in Cream/Black. Cream and Black is the Mexico 66 with the contrast turned up and the temperature kept warm. Cream is softer and yellower than Birch or white, so when black runs through the crossed Tiger Stripes and along the sole edge, the shoe reads graphic without going cold. The silhouette dates to 1966, when Onitsuka built the Mexico line to compete with Adidas and Puma and sent it out two years ahead of the 1968 Mexico City Games, making it the first shoe to carry the Tiger Stripes. This unisex make up is the plainest possible statement of that shape: two colours, one graphic, nothing else competing for attention.
