Yeezy Desert Boot Salt 2024

Designed by Kanye West and released on 27 May 2024 as part of the Yeezy Desert Boot line. This release has a suede upper in Salt/Salt/Salt. The Desert Boot is the outlier in a line built on sneakers. Instead of a knit runner or a moulded clog it takes the shape of a plain ankle boot, strips it of hardware and detailing, and rebuilds it as a smooth pull on form with a thick moulded sole. Salt keeps it in the pale mineral register that ran from the earliest adidas releases through to the last, a near white named after a substance rather than a shade. On a boot silhouette that treatment is unusual and slightly severe, which is the point: it looks less like footwear from a shop and more like a moulded prop. adidas terminated the Yeezy partnership on 25 October 2022, so this exists as archive product.
