Origin
Designed by Kanye West and released on 10 June 2024 as part of adidas's Yeezy Slides line. This release has a eva upper in Azure/Azure/Azure. The Yeezy Slide launched on December 6, 2019 across adult, kids and infant sizing, with three region exclusive colorways in Desert Sand, Resin and Bone, and it sold out on the first drop. The design read like a clog stripped to its essentials: one thick rounded shape, no logo, no hardware, nothing to look at but the silhouette itself. Almost every release that followed stayed in the same earthy register of bone, pure, slate grey, flax and salt. Azure broke that pattern completely. It is a full cobalt blue slide, tonal from footbed to outsole, carrying style code ID4133 at 70 dollars retail. It arrived on May 31, 2023 through the adidas CONFIRMED app as part of the brand's final Yeezy stock rollout, which is exactly why this colorway is finite rather than restockable.
Utility
Size up. Yeezy Slides run close to a full size small and are sold in whole sizes only, so if you normally wear a US 9 take the 10, and go further if your feet are wide or the strap will press across the midfoot. The foam softens a little with wear but it will never stretch enough to rescue a pair bought too tight. Two ways to wear the Azure slide: with black or off white sweat shorts and a heavyweight plain tee for the full off duty read, or with wide cropped denim and a white crew sock when you want the blue to be the only colour in the fit. Cleaning is warm water, mild soap and a soft brush, then air dry out of direct sun so the cobalt does not fade.
Influence
The Slide pulled off something unusual: it turned a house shoe into a status object. Since 2019 it has stayed one of the most requested silhouettes in the Yeezy line, and its colorway names became community shorthand on their own. Azure sits deliberately outside all of that. Where the line built its recognition on muted sand, bone and grey, this is unmissable cobalt, which makes it the pair people actually clock on your foot rather than one that blends into the outfit. Construction
This is a single injected EVA foam cast, and that one decision is the entire engineering story. Injected EVA delivers lightweight durability, so the slide absorbs daily wear without going soft or splitting where the strap meets the footbed. The top layer of the footbed is softer than the body underneath it, which is why you get step in comfort with essentially no break in period, unusual for foam this dense. The outsole uses strategic groove placement rather than a full tread block, enough grip for wet bathroom tile and pool decking without adding weight. There is no stitching, no lining and no glue seam anywhere to fail, and because the whole thing is one piece, cleaning it takes about thirty seconds.
