Released on 22 May 2025 and part of the 2010 line. This release has a suede upper in Arid Stone/Raincloud/Calcium. Grey Day is New Balance celebrating the one colour it genuinely owns, and putting it on the 2010 sends the idea back to the technical end of the archive rather than to the obvious 99x heroes. Grey became this brand's signature by accident: the 990 family, launched in 1982 after being conceived in 1978, turned the grey suburban running shoe into an American default, worn for comfort rather than status, and everything since has been read through that. The 2010 is a deep archive runner, layered and substantial, and dressing it in the house colour is a way of making the point without leaning on the 990 itself. The code is U2010GD.
Utility
Two recipes. Full grey is the move: charcoal wide leg trousers, a grey marl crewneck and a lighter grey overshirt, letting the shoe be the most textured element in a single colour outfit. Or navy straight leg denim with a black knit for the version where the grey acts purely as a neutral. Construction
