Nike SB exists because skateboarders had already chosen the Dunk before Nike built anything for them, and the SB line's whole method has been to hand the silhouette to people inside the culture rather than design at them. This pair carries Hayley Wilson's name in the product title as the collaborator, and Court Purple is the anchor colour, a tone that has run through Dunk history since the shoe's college colour origins. Purple on a Dunk is not a neutral choice: it is one of the shades that made the shape collectible in the first place.
