Adidas Samba OG 'cloud White'

Released on 1 January 2018 and part of adidas's Samba line. This release has a leather upper in Cloud White/Core Black/Clear Granite. The Samba OG belongs to the oldest instinct in the company: Adolf Dassler making purpose built shoes in his mother's laundry room in Herzogenaurach, watching athletes instead of guessing at them, then registering adidas AG in 1949 once the split with his brother was final. Cloud White is that instinct stripped of decoration. There is no colour blocking to read, no season to date it, just the flat low shape and the Three Stripes running the length of the panel, the mark Adi Dassler bought from Karhu Sports in 1952 for the equivalent of about 1,600 euros and two bottles of whisky. In white, the stripes stop being a logo and go back to being what they were first, a structural line stitched onto the upper.
