    Designed by Peter Moore and released on 22 December 2022 as part of the Air Jordan 1 line. This release has a leather upper in Black/Fire Red/White. Alternate Bred takes the brand's most loaded palette and rearranges it. Standard Bred puts black over red; the alternate flips the emphasis, which changes the shoe from a dark silhouette with red trim into something warmer and more direct. The palette itself comes from the argument that launched the line: the NBA required shoes at least 51 percent white, the league cited the Nike Air Ship prototype Jordan wore before the 1 released, and Nike paid the 5,000 dollar per game fine and advertised the fight instead of redesigning. In grade school sizing on a Mid, that history arrives on the feet of people who were not born for any of it.

    Two recipes. First, black sweatpants and a black tee, letting the red carry the whole outfit, which is the easiest way to wear a bold Mid without over thinking it. Second, dark denim, a white tee and a black cap, a clean three colour fit that matches the shoe exactly. Keep the top half plain, since red at the foot plus a busy print above fights itself.     The Mid is the practical cut for a red and black build, since the collar closes the shoe without the High's commitment and gives the two colours a natural boundary. Panel seams split the red across toe and quarter so it holds shape rather than reading as one flat mass, and the black anchors the swoosh and collar where scuffs happen most. GS builds use the same silhouette on a smaller last, so try a half size up if you wear thick socks. Red loses depth in strong sunlight, so store the pair away from a bright window. Dry brush the black, wipe the white midsole edge often, and never machine wash a bonded midsole shoe.
