Designed by Peter Moore and released on 2 November 2022 as part of the Air Jordan 1 line. This release has a leather upper in Noble Green/White/Midnight Navy. In 1997 the line stopped being a signature model and became Jordan Brand, a standalone division inside Nike with its own athlete roster, apparel and collaborations. That is the change that made colourways like this one possible: once the shoe belonged to a label rather than to a player, it could be coloured for a wardrobe instead of for a uniform. Noble green over white is a wardrobe colour, deep and slightly formal, sitting closer to a knitted tie than to a Bulls jersey. The pattern underneath is still the one Peter Moore drew with Bruce Kilgore, and the Mid is the version of it built to be worn rather than stored.
Green and white is a smart casual combination if you keep the rest quiet. Recipe one: navy trousers with a clean break, a white oxford shirt, no visible sock, worn where a low key trainer is acceptable. Recipe two: black denim, a grey sweatshirt, a green cap or beanie echoing the shoe at a distance. Avoid mixing in a second green that does not match, and avoid brown outerwear, which drags the tone toward military. Mids suit a hem at or just above the collar. Good year round. Clean the white base early with a damp cloth and a soft brush, and dry away from radiators.
Jordan Brand is not a separate company; it is a Nike division, and by 2022 it generated about 5.1 billion dollars for its parent, with a reported 150 to 256 million dollars flowing to Jordan himself under the royalty clause negotiated back in 1984. That royalty is the detail that made the original contract unusual and the reason the brand still carries his name meaningfully. College basketball programmes carrying Jordan Brand include North Carolina, Jordan's own university, plus Georgetown, Cincinnati and Michigan, and green and white colourways read naturally in that collegiate register: team adjacent without claiming a team, which is exactly the space general release Mids are designed to occupy.
The Mid holds the ankle with a collar that stops short of the original high cut, which is the whole reason it works under a trouser: it gives structure without demanding a cropped hem. Green over white keeps the panel edges sharply legible, so the eyestay, quarter and swoosh all stay separately readable rather than merging. Deep greens hold their colour well but show water marks and salt more clearly than mid tones, which matters through winter. Jordan Brand does not publish a per colourway material breakdown, so confirm the finish of the green panels in hand and treat the white base as the part that will need attention first.
