Designed by Peter Moore and released on 17 January 2023 as part of the Air Jordan 1 line. This release has a patent leather upper in White/Black. Concord is borrowed language. That deep purple blue belongs to the Air Jordan XI, the model that put patent leather on a basketball court and brought a formal wear material into performance sport, which is why people still wear that shoe with suits. Bringing the name and the tone down to a grade school Low SE is Jordan Brand quoting itself, moving a code from one model to another because the audience knows both. Underneath, the pattern is the one Peter Moore drew before 1 April 1985, cut below the ankle and scaled for younger feet, carrying a colour reference older than most of the people wearing it.
Two recipes. School run: dark straight jeans, a white tee, a purple or navy hoodie so the accent repeats up top. Or sport: black track pants with a grey crew, letting the concord panels do the only colour work. Lows suit a hem at the ankle rather than a break at the shoe. Grade school sizing runs close to true, with width worth checking before length. Clean the white leather with foam and a soft brush, do the purple last, and dry away from radiators so the panels stay flexible instead of hardening at the crease. Replace the laces before you replace the shoes, since a fresh white set resets a grade school pair instantly.
The Air Jordan XI is the most formal shoe in the signature line, and its patent leather experiment is the reason the whole series is comfortable moving between a court and a jacket. Passing the Concord name down to a Low is a small act of continuity in a line that has always built its own internal language: the Jumpman on the tongue, the Wings mark of the earliest era, elephant print from the III, and colour names that function as shorthand between people who have never met. Wearing this pair means holding a piece of that vocabulary, in a size made for someone still learning it.
White leather base with concord purple on the Swoosh, collar and heel, on the grade school Low pattern with its flat stitched rubber cupsole. Deep purples sit unusually well against white because the contrast is strong without being harsh, and the colour holds up better under sunlight than reds or bright yellows do. Grade school builds mirror the adult architecture at a smaller scale, so durability is the same story: leather that stiffens then softens, a toe box that creases where the foot bends, and a platform that stays flat and firm long after the upper has relaxed around the foot.
