Released on 6 July 2025 and part of Nike's Vomero 18 line. This release has a mesh upper in Black/Coconut Milk/Light Iron Ore/Summit White. Bowerman founded the company on a specific complaint: that runners were being sold shoes that were too heavy and not good enough, and that they deserved better. The Vomero is the plush end of the answer, a cushioned trainer aimed at comfort over speed, and the 18 is its current generation. What makes this pair worth singling out is the Extra Wide fitting, which is Nike admitting that a comfort shoe is useless if it squeezes the foot it is meant to protect. Black Coconut Milk gives it a soft two-tone reading, a dark body lifted by a warm off-white, so it looks considered rather than medical.
Recipe one, running and walking: easy mileage, standing days and long travel, worn with a cushioned crew sock, black tights or joggers, where the Coconut Milk tones stop the fit reading as entirely functional. Recipe two, casual: sand or stone chinos with a black crew and a cream overshirt, using the two-tone palette as the fit's colour logic. The most important advertising Nike ever made was not aimed at elite athletes.
